Corey O’Brien is the founder and lead attorney of O’BRIEN LEGAL, where he focuses his practice on elder law, estate planning, estate administration, and special needs planning. His work is rooted in helping individuals and families make thoughtful decisions, protect what matters most, and plan with greater confidence for the future.
Corey’s approach to the law is personal, practical, and compassionate. Whether he is helping a family prepare an estate plan, guiding loved ones through the estate administration process, assisting seniors with long-term care planning, or supporting families of individuals with special needs, Corey strives to make complex legal issues easier to understand. He believes clients deserve clear guidance, careful listening, and a legal plan that reflects their values, goals, and family circumstances.
In addition to his legal practice, Corey has spent much of his life working alongside neighbors, volunteers, and civic leaders to strengthen the communities that shaped him. In 1990, he helped organize a local community group with a vision to build the Dunmore Community Center. In 1994, he helped advocate for and secure a $650,000 federal appropriation from the United States Congress, providing early funding that helped move the project forward and contributed to the multi-generational community facility Dunmore enjoys today.
Corey has also been deeply involved in projects that create better places for children and families. In 2008, he led the construction of six Boundless Playgrounds throughout Lackawanna County, giving children with and without special needs the opportunity to play together, break down barriers, and build friendships. Starting in 2009 and spanning 15 years, Corey worked with a dedicated group of volunteers to help revitalize the Moosic Little League, investing more than $2 million in major facility improvements, including new fields, dugouts, a concession stand, clubhouse, press box, pitching facility, and batting cage. In 2011, Corey helped spearhead the redevelopment of PNC Field, home of the New York Yankees Triple A Affiliate, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders.
For Corey, these efforts reflect a simple belief: strong communities are built when people come together, invest in one another, and create places where every person feels included and valued.
Corey’s commitment to public service has also extended to television, radio, and public affairs programming. He serves as a political analyst for WNEP-TV 16, the ABC affiliate serving Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, and previously hosted Corey O’Brien NOW on WILK News Radio and The Pulse with Corey O’Brien on FOX56, a public affairs television program focused on civic issues, community voices, and thoughtful discussion about the future of Northeastern Pennsylvania. In 2007, the program received an Excellence in Broadcasting Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters.
Through his legal practice, community work, and public affairs experience, Corey has remained guided by the same principle: people deserve to feel heard, respected, and supported when making important decisions for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Joseph Price is an attorney at O’BRIEN LEGAL, where he focuses his practice on estate planning, wills, trusts, estate administration, and corporate and business law. His work is rooted in helping individuals, families, and business owners make thoughtful decisions, protect what matters most, and plan with greater confidence for the future.
Joseph’s approach to the law is practical, personal, and client-centered. Whether he is helping a family prepare an estate plan, guiding loved ones through questions after the death of a family member, assisting clients with long-term planning, or advising business owners on legal issues affecting their companies, Joseph strives to make complex legal matters easier to understand. He believes clients deserve clear guidance, careful listening, and a legal plan that reflects their goals, concerns, family circumstances, and business priorities.
Before joining O’BRIEN LEGAL, Joseph spent more than a decade practicing as a trial attorney. During that time, he represented clients in a wide range of legal matters and tried more than a dozen jury trials to verdict. That experience gave him a deep appreciation for the way legal issues can affect families, finances, health, businesses, relationships, and long-term security. It also shaped his belief that good legal guidance should not only respond to problems after they arise, but help clients plan ahead, reduce uncertainty, and avoid unnecessary conflict whenever possible.
Joseph’s commitment to public service has also been an important part of his life and legal career. He served in the United States Peace Corps in the Central Asian Republic of Kyrgyzstan, an experience that deepened his appreciation for service, community, and working with people from different backgrounds and circumstances. He has also served as Solicitor for the Lackawanna County Office of Youth and Family Services and as Assistant Solicitor for the City of Scranton. Through that work, Joseph gained meaningful experience with issues affecting children, families, public institutions, local government, and the community he calls home.
A native of the Minooka section of Scranton, Joseph understands the importance of serving the same communities where he was raised. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester, where he played varsity football, and later earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, graduating magna cum laude.
Joseph’s work is guided by the belief that good legal counsel should provide more than documents or answers. It should give clients clarity, direction, and confidence at moments when the decisions in front of them truly matter. At O’BRIEN LEGAL, he is committed to helping individuals, families, and business owners move forward with practical guidance and a plan that reflects what matters most to them.
Stephanie Tigue is an attorney at O’BRIEN LEGAL, where she brings more than two decades of legal experience to helping individuals and families navigate important decisions with clarity and confidence.
Stephanie has built her career around helping people through complex family matters that carry significant personal and financial consequences. Her experience handling divorce, custody, and protection-from-abuse cases has given her a practical understanding of family dynamics and the importance of approaching each matter with preparation, sound judgment, and sensitivity to the client’s individual circumstances.
Stephanie also served as a guardian ad litem in the Lackawanna County Family Court, representing the interests of minor children in custody proceedings and making recommendations to the court concerning their best interests. That experience reinforced the importance of careful listening, independent judgment, and treating each family’s circumstances with sensitivity and respect.
Stephanie earned both her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Geneseo and is a graduate of Leadership Lackawanna.
Stephanie brings to her practice a combination of courtroom experience, family-law insight, business education, and public service. She is committed to providing clear guidance, practical solutions, and thoughtful support to clients facing important legal decisions.
